New Freshman & Transfer Scholarship Application

New freshman and transfer students are automatically considered for an academic award (based on GPA) upon applying to Cornerstone University. This scholarship application is for additional funding through the university, allowing you to apply for the Cornerstone scholarships listed below:

President's Fellows Program & Scholarship - $10,000 per year
The President’s Fellows program connects student fellows with prestigious leaders (national fellows) from diverse industries who serve as professional mentors.

Leadership Scholarship - $1,000 per year
The Leadership Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate spiritual maturity, participate within their church and community, have the capacity to contribute to a spiritually contagious environment at CU, and desire to be an influence in the world for Christ.

Missionary Family Scholarship - $1,000 per year
The Missionary Family Scholarship is awarded to U.S. citizen or international missionary kids whose families are serving overseas.

Scholarships are awarded to a limited number of full-time students who enroll in the fall semester. Select the scholarship opportunities you would like to apply for below and answer the corresponding questions.

President's Fellows Scholarship Application

The purpose of the essays below is to authentically get to know you as a President's Fellows program Student Fellow candidate. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistance (ChatGPT, etc.) is prohibited. Please note essay responses may be checked for use of AI.

Scholarship Requirements & Acknowledgements:

Academic Requirement: minimum 3.3 cumulative high school or transfer GPA.

I understand that if I choose to disregard the standards and expectations of the Cornerstone University Community Covenant, my scholarship may be subject to review and may be terminated.

I understand that the President's Fellows Scholarship is renewable for each consecutive semester enrolled, which begins in the fall semester after the award is initially offered.

I understand that I must maintain good academic standing and maintain full-time enrollment of 12-18 credits per semester.

Please Note: The President's Fellows Scholarship will only be applied to the block credit rate (12-18 credit hours).

I understand that I must live on-campus for all years of enrollment. If I choose to live off-campus, I will forfeit my entire scholarship.

Please Note: Married housing at CU is considered off-campus and therefore married students may not be eligible for the President's Fellows Scholarship. Contact the Campus Housing Department for more information.

This is a combined application. Complete these essay questions to be considered for the Leadership Scholarship or the Missionary Family Scholarship. Missionary Family Scholarship candidates' parents must be currently active in the missions field or on furlough.
